About Resting Kiwi
Your Host and proprietor: Jane Arnott
Jane loves living at Great Lake Taupo. She has had a diverse career across conservation, business ethics and consulting.
Her focus, within the tourism and hospitality industry, is on ensuring that guests enjoy their stay and leave with fantastic memories. Great Lake Taupo and surrounds epitomises the great outdoors. Its mountainbiking heaven and has nearby skiing to die for. While in her career Jane has transformed the way many companies position and see themselves she now works tirelessly to ensure visitors and tourists experience New Zealand in its purest and most beautiful form.
Resting Kiwi embodies this. Honest, curious and unique – where else in the world would you find a true Resting Kiwi.
If you are an overseas guest reading this – its probably that Jane will, right now, be mountainbiking, swimming, cycling, playing tennis or preparing for her next Resting Kiwi guests. Her life doesn’t stand still – and nor should yours!
Resting Kiwi’s Zoe English Pointer
Zoe is integral to your Resting Kiwi experience. She is incredibly sweet natured and docile. Despite being classed a gun dog the sound of a toaster makes her jump and she recently was chased by a duck!
Resting Kiwi Some storytelling
For generations New Zealanders have been proud to call themselves ‘kiwis’. Our identity as ‘kiwi’ transcends the flightless bird that scrabbles through or forest and treasures the night. Being kiwi means never giving up and always having a go – even if you are a bird without wings and nostrils at the tip of an extremely long beak!
But time out and time to rest is important. For a feisty kiwi chick rest enables it to reach the critical weight of 400grams enabling it to fight predators such as stoats or rats.
So, Resting Kiwi is all about revival and building your strength for the day ahead. So go ahead – and book!
